About Us

Munnet – Municipal Network is a multilingual information and cooperation platform dedicated exclusively to municipalities and local governments, bringing cities from every continent together on a shared digital space. The platform is published by Türk Kültürünü Araştırma ve Tanıtma Vakfı (Foundation for Researching and Promoting Turkish Culture).

Our Purpose

To help municipalities learn from one another by making local-government news, smart-city practices and sister-city / project-partnership opportunities accessible in one place, in five languages.

Our Mission

To provide a reliable flow of information between municipalities, based on official and verifiable sources and reviewed by editors, and to facilitate joint projects between cities.

Our Vision

A global local-government network in which language and geography no longer limit cooperation between municipalities, and good practices spread quickly.

What the platform offers

• Municipal news: current local-government news organised by continent and topic.
• Smart-city practices: solutions municipalities have implemented in mobility, energy, water, waste, digital services and more.
• Sister cities and project partners: calls from municipalities seeking partners, and a way to connect.
• Municipal directory: municipal profiles based on official public data.
• Five languages: Turkish, English, Russian, Spanish and Arabic.

Content passes through AI-assisted translation and pre-screening; the decision to publish is always made by our editors. Subscribing municipalities can submit their own news and projects.
